Hollywood A-lister Colin Farrell has been spotted running in the Brisbane Marathon over the weekend.

Pat Carroll, who MC’d the event, took to social media to show his followers how close he got to the Miami Vice star.

“Pat just letting you know Colin Farrell is running and doesn’t want any Fan Fair when he is finishing” No worries I said #whenyougetcaughtupinthemoment,” his caption read.

The MC is heard enthusiastically telling the crowd to “give it up for Colin Farrell” in the footage.

“Ladies and gentleman. Colin Farrell is entering the home straight,” Mr Carroll begins.

“He’s crossed the line at the Brisbane Marathon.”

Farrell wore black fitted running singlet with an Irish flag printed in the top corner, with black shorts and socks.

He finished the marathon in just over three hours and 54 minutes, coming in as the 222nd person to cross the line out of 683 participants.

The Irish Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actor is filming Thirteen Lives on the Gold Coast – a movie about Thailand’s 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue where a group of young boys and their soccer coach were trapped in the underground cave for 18 days.

It also features Viggo Mortensen, known for playing Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Aussie Joel Edgerton, who has featured in Star Wars and The Great Gatsby.

Ron Howard is directing the movie and Brian Grazer is producing.

Farrell has also starred in The Gentlemen and Disney’s live-action adaptation of Dumbo, and will be seen as The Penguin in the 2022 release of The Batman, which is post-production.
