A pipe fitter working in Wakefield won millions on an after-work casino spin.

Sean Ward, 35, is from Lancashire but was working away from home, on a chicken farm in Wakefield, when he decided to wind-down from a busy day with a few spins at an online casino.

Millionaire Sean bet just two quid for a post-work flutter at the Betfair Casino, but was stunned when his phone revealed that he had hit the jackpot - winning an eye-watering £1.3m.

Sean said: "After working at the chicken farm I was back at my digs with a workmate who I live with and I decided to have a few spins on Betfair Casino. I landed the jackpot and showed my phone to my mate to check – he thought it was £1,300 but I told him he’d need to add a few zeros.

"I was in complete shock so had to look at the balance a few times and it still hasn't sunk in - it's the most surreal moment of my life. Just like Rodney once famously said to Del Boy - £1.3 million - not bad for a day's work."

Sean and his workmate immediately celebrated with cigars and champagne, in true Del Boy fashion, but the dad-of-two plans to take his fiancee and children to Disneyland for a trip-of-a-lifetime when travel restrictions ease.

"I'm looking forward to celebrating the big win with my nearest and dearest to give them a holiday experience they'll never forget", Sean said, "after that, I'm keen to invest in my local football team and I'll make sure we've got brand spanking new kits for when we're allowed to play again."
