Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has splashed out almost $9.2 million on the Los Angeles home of Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor spent $US7.1 million ($9.18 million) on the Los Feliz house which is likely to be home to a lucky family member, Dirt reports,

The stylish home, which has been featured in Architectural Digest, sold for more than the property’s $US$6.995 million asking price, and for well above the $US4.6 million that Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita paid for it back in 2013.

The late-1920s Spanish colonial-style house has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a three-car garage and sits on a 2225-square-metre lot that offers city views.

The house itself offers almost 460 square metres of living space, and features an eat-in chef’s kitchen with a breakfast nook, a family room equipped with a drop-down screen for movie nights and a library with soaring ceilings, according to the listing.

Almost every room has access to outdoor space, perfect for entertaining or al fresco dining, and there is also a pool, spa, detached yoga room and multiple courtyards, fountains and outdoor fireplaces.

The property had previously been home to singer Gwen Stefani, Hollywood producer Mark Brazill and snack food entrepreneur Lara Merriken.
